Alieda Jaehn

Owner & Instructor

Alieda is a well-rounded artist that uses music as a form of rehabilitation, connection and education. This is why she continues to be so passionate when it comes to music in her private instruction and jam programs that The Studio is so very proud of. While her primary instrument is piano, she is a multi-instrumentalist with skills in guitar, ukulele, vocal, banjo and back-up tambourine.

Besides having a decade of experience in program direction, Alieda has gathered over 25 years of music education through RCM Certification, MacEwan’s Jazz & Contemporary program, and holds a degree in Music Therapy from Vancouver’s Capilano University - all while continuing to teach & perform internationally for over 15 years. Alieda is also well-versed in organizing live performances & recording opportunities for many artists, and is excited to expand on these multifaceted connections throughout Strathcona County.

Alieda loves that The Studio encourages the love of the arts through performance, team building, creativity, and the universal language that is so evident throughout our strong community. Alieda will always continue to be surrounded by those who can teach her new things.

Andrew Jaehn

Music Instructor

Raised in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Andrew quickly caught on to the ambience that had been ringing in his ears as a young listener. Andrew quickly felt the urge to begin playing music at age 5, starting with violin.

Throughout the years, he has become accomplished at performing and instructing guitar, slide guitar, mandolin, bass guitar and ukulele. Originally being inspired by rock, pop and jazz, from his parents’ catalogue of music, he now mostly associates himself in the Blues and Americana idioms.

Andrew’s performing career has led him on shows and tours through Canada, United States and Belize with Old Jack Tap, the Junkyard Poets, the Royal Foundry, Vice Ganda, TNT Boys and the Stephanie Harpe Experience. Aside from working as session musician, he sustains a solo career, winning two GMA Canada awards: “Jazz/Blues Album of the Year 2013- Nuthin’ But A Man” and “Jazz/Blues Song of the Year 2014 - Give Me One Good Reason”. With Old Jack Tap, they released their debut album “Ain’t Gettin’ Any Better” in 2017, celebrating award nominations.

Alexa Cable

Music Instructor

Alexa's musical journey began at a young age—by four, she was already captivating audiences with her innate talent on the stage. Her origins were marked by a deep immersion in classical music, studying the violin and competing provincially.

Alexa began to focus more on songwriting, as she picked up the guitar at the age of 12. Throughout her youth, Alexa honed her songwriting and vocal skills, developing a distinctive style that draws inspiration from a myriad of genres.

At MacEwan University, Alexa completed a Bachelor of Music in 2022. In the same year she began releasing original music under her performing name ‘Lexene”. Her recordings, showcase a fusion of influences ranging from Bill Withers to Amy Winehouse.

In May 2023, Lexene unveiled her latest project - the 'Burn Out' EP. A genre-bending collection of tracks that showcases her range as an artist. The EP seamlessly blends acoustic, R&B, and pop elements that reflect Alexa's fearless songwriting exploration.

Outside of all this, Alexa is part of the team at Back Burner Studios, an Edmonton based recording studio, as a Producer and Engineer.

While Alexa's roots are firmly planted in performance and composition, her journey has taken an exciting turn toward education. Though new to the realm of teaching, she brings a wealth of practical and theoretical knowledge, having walked the path from a beginner to a seasoned musician. Her teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that every individual possesses a unique voice, waiting to be discovered and refined.
